John Aschermann
General Manager
John has been with The Polo Fields since 2009. Previous to his current position, he served as the Food & Beverage Director of both our properties. His main objective is to foster a culture of service in an upscale but casual environment within the club. This is accomplished by building a committed group of team members who maintain great golf courses, host exciting golf and social events, operate great restaurants and develop long term relationships with our membership. Open communication between the membership and the club is extremely important. John has always had an open door policy and encourages members to drop by and share their experiences involving the club with him.
Chris Chalmers
Director of Sales & Membership
Chris joined the team in 2010 as Director of Sales and Catering where her main responsibility was accommodating non-member events such as weddings, meetings, and golf outings. In her new role, she is looking forward to serving the needs of our current membership while simultaneously working to bring in new members. She is very excited to get to know everyone, so please stop by and say hello if you haven’t met her yet.
Gary Breuer
He has been with The Polo Fields since 2009. Gary is responsible for heading up our accounting department in addition to handling our Human Resources and IT issues. He received a BBA in accounting from Western Michigan University. Prior to joining our team he spent 5 years in public accounting along with 20 years as a controller in the construction & wholesale industries.
Eric Mason, PGA
Head Golf Professional - AA
Eric joined The Polo Fields professional golf staff in 2015. With more than 10 years in the golf industry, Eric oversees the day-to-day golf operations at The Polo Fields - Ann Arbor. In addition, Eric is in charge of merchandising at both locations.
Ryan Cooper
Head Golf Professional - WGC
Ryan has been with The Polo Fields since 2010, after moving from Kansas. He has over 13 year of experience in the golf industry including instruction, club-fitting, repair and day-to-day operations. Ryan has a passion for teaching and growing the game of golf. When he is not working, he enjoys spending time with his wife and two children.
Tim Czerniawski
WGC Clubhouse Manager
Tim joined The Polo Fields in 2011. With over 20 years of experience, he oversees all operations at Washtenaw Golf Club. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his nephews.
Robert Mauck
Director of Food and Beverage
Bob joined The Polo Fields in 2017. Bob has over 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry. He is responsible for all food & beverage operations at The Polo Fields - Ann Arbor.
Robert Schryer
Executive Chef - AA
Chef Rob is from Clinton, Michigan and is a graduate from Orlando Culinary Academy where he honed his skills in American contemporary and French cuisine. He is always focused on seasonal and farm to table ingredients. He is excited to get to keep up the culinary tradition in The Polo Fields' Grille Room!
Donna Hatch
Senior Sales Representative
Donna has been with the Polo Fields since 2008 and has been a benefit in multiple areas of the club. Her well-rounded knowledge of Club Events prove to be an asset to our Catering & Sales Department. She can take care of any inquiry about your Private Event.
Chelsea Corry
Special Events & Communications
Chelsea has been with The Polo Fields since 2010. Chelsea has worked in a variety of departments including Food & Beverage and now sales. Her responsibilities include facilitation of special events and club communications.
Mark Pappas
Golf Course Superintendent - WGC
Mark joined our staff in April of 2017. He brings 22 years of experience in golf course maintenance and earned his degree in Turf & Landscape while attending school in Florida. He is a local Ypsilanti native that grew up within a mile from the Club.
